The GameSir Cyclone 2 has been garnering a lot of praise lately.
In many ways, I can understand why, since it feels like the quintessential GameSir controller.
TheGameSir Tarantula Prothat it launched alongside feels so distinct in comparison.
But does the Cyclone 2 do enough to really stand out when you consider what else is out there?
That isnt necessarily a bad thing, however.
TheT4 Kaleidwas one of the first GameSir controllers I tested, and its still up there with my favorites.
Its metallic thumbsticks do feel a lot more substantial than the rest of the package would suggest though.
Another improvement Id argue would really make the Cyclone 2 stand out is a second pair of back buttons.
Thebest Xbox Series X controllers, for example, are locked to 400Hz when connected to their console.
Hall Sensor triggers here have cleverly designed integrated stop switches on them.
Theyre also tiny and would be easy to miss if you werent looking for them.
I personally like how simple the function buttons are on the Cyclone 2.
These are much more scannable and placed far better than on the Tarantula Pro.
All in all, the Cyclone 2 has plenty of features for its price.
Where this controller feels right at home is in third-person action games, mainly because its so comfortable.
The TMR thumbsticks, yet again, just felt so much more reliable than any other for platforming.
Should you buy the GameSir Cyclone 2?
Then again, maybe youre looking for a solid all-rounder in this price range.
But then again, why not go for even cheaper when theEasySMX X10already exists?
