Nintendo is still set to hand out pre-order invites on May 8 for those in the US.
Just be sure to check that you meet all the criteria Ninty has laid out before you get excited.
I’ve been tracking hard-to-find stock for over five years now.
(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)
It all started when the PS5 and Xbox Series X were near-impossible to pre-order back in 2020.
Email invites will be sent out on May 8.
Of course, everything remains grayed out for now, but that’s certainly a good sign.
Things have been quiet here, though, we’re still waiting for the next wave to go live.
This is another fast one, though, with limited availability.
Nintendo Store |Check requirementsNintendo has opened its doors, with its own handheld’s pre-orders available by invitation only.
This is one to watch, even if delivery times are started to move well past June 5.
It’s still well worth checking in as more units could drop at any time.
Thatcouldmean online stock might be dropping, but I expect these are more likely holding pages for June 5.
The gamepad ships by, and is available to pick up on, release day.
This is a must-have from day one if you want to keep your handheld secure.
Best Buy has these available for pre-order right now.
However, it’s worth remembering that Walmart is slightly cheaper when the time comes.

Should you pre-order Nintendo Switch 2?
That said, stock is difficult to find right now so you’ll need to join the hunt.
However, I would warn against leaving it in the hopes of a cheaper price come the holidays.
What Nintendo Switch 2 accessories are available?
Finally, we have the GameCube controller.
You’ll need to have an invite from Nintendo specifically to purchase that one, though.
When is the Nintendo Switch 2 release date?
However, as stock has already shifted off the shelves some stores are pushing their shipping timelines further back.
How much is the Nintendo Switch 2?
That means you’re saving about $30 / 40 by grabbing the package deal.
At least, where this Friday is concerned.
A word of warning, they don’t come cheap.
And you could use your older Joy-Con controllers, though there are some compatibility issues with some games.
My original launch Switch, my OLED model, and my partner’s Switch.
I didn’t check out, namely because I got my Switch 2 pre-order from Argos earlier last month.
(When they do, I’ll be sure to let you know too!
And hopefully more to come.
Want Switch 2 games?
Guess who’s back, back again
Good morning fellow Ninty fans!
Now, let’s get to the Switch 2 fun.
Personally, I’d keep refreshing Amazon just in case Switch 2 listings finally show up.
That’ll bring you to $519.98 if you go down that route.
What Switch 2 alternatives are out there for under $500?
Why would I want to do that when it has a built-in screen?
I use the Baseus Blade 100W to power virtually all of my handhelds, including the OG Switch.
If you’re just waking up in the States, good morning!
Sega does what Nintendoes… Support for all models isn’t a given, and the console has a tool to effectively check compatibility.

How are things in the UK?
Just like the US, things are pretty quiet when it comes to Switch 2 UK stock.
Better still, you might save a few dollars on each since many of them have coupons available.
Completely new to Nintendo handhelds?

What’s happening at Amazon right now?
That could be a sign that the storefront won’t be getting any stock before launch.
It has plenty of other Ninty handhelds, but it hasn’t really joined the race yet.
Things are a little different in the UK, as Amazon has already had a wave of stock.
Effectively, picking up a controller for your Switch 2 just got more complicated.
Howdy Switch 2 seekers!
I’m back on the ground on the hunt for Nintendo’s upcoming handheld at retailers.
I’d expect Amazon UK to be the one to watch tomorrow for a third batch.
Happy Switch 2 hunting, and catch you all tomorrow for another day.
Amazon is still quiet…
When you search for Nintendo Switch 2 at Amazon in the US, there’s still nothing.
Will we see Amazon launch its Switch 2 pre-order stock this week?

How’s this for Star Power?
We would assume that they will, but there are absolutely no guarantees.
Ok, let’s have a look at the UK instead.
Sorry folks, this isn’t looking too exciting at the moment.
There is still some excitement ahead, though.
As we get closer to launch, there’s also the second batch of console stock to think about.
More on all of this as it develops.
Still on the fence about pre-ordering a Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of launch day?
I understand your hesitancy, and actually, I applaud it.
Sometimes, consoles launch without feeling like they have enough new games to really warrant their price tags immediately.
Could showing up at a store work?
It’s also extremely comfortable in the hands and would be a perfect tool for any cozy Nintendo title.
US:$69.99 at AmazonUK:69.99 at Amazon
Good morning, US readers!
The main retailer I’d be checking if I were shopping over there right now isNewegg.
After two days of silence, could this be when Newegg joins the party?
We’re still all quiet on the Amazon front, so the battleground is Newegg’s for the taking.
If not, we might see Amazon do another drop tomorrow.
I’ll keep checking today, though, as we could get lucky.
AMAZON UK STOCK IS IN
And we’re off!
Amazon UK has just activated the pre-order button on its Switch 2 pre-order page.
Go, go, go!
UK retailers to watch
Where are we most likely to see UK stock today?
I thought you’d never ask.
Amazon in the UKhad some stock yesterday, with nothing so far going on today.
Very seems to have the steadiest flow of accessories, too.

I’d put my best on Amazon, but something tells me a randomArgos resupplycould drop sometime soon.
Either way, I’ll be here with the latest updates.
Might this mean we see some Switch 2 console stock drop at Amazon today, too?
We can only hope right now.
Has Nintendo found another way to fix its stick drift issues?
Surely today is the day, right?
you could find the full patch notes onNintendo’s Support website.
To bundle, or not to bundle, that is the question…
The games listed are all third party releases, there’s nothing from Nintendo’s own publishing house here.
That means no Donkey Kong Bananza, Legend of Zelda, or Mario Kart are available.
Instead, games include Cyberpunk 2077, Rune Factory, and Story of Seasons.
However, it is another shot to keep in your back pocket.
Is Currys going online?
That came as a surprise seeing as the retailer was so adamant it was only doing in-store pre-orders.
There’s some mixed messages on this page, though.
Still, there’s movement here.
And we’ll take any movement we can get at the moment.
Meanwhile, UK stock-hunters can readily pre-order at Very.
Walmart had an ace up its sleeve when Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders first went live last week.
That’s as good as getting up and queuing for a store’s opening.
However, some reported that delivery date slipping slightly towards the end of Walmart’s first wave of stock.
Given the longer timeline of June 4, though, I’m cautiously optimistic.
This is cheaper than most first-party launch day games, coming in at $59.99 / 49.99.
Will retailers restock before June 5?
Whether or not we see more stock before launch day depends on whether Nintendo is providing that second wave.
Right now, I’m erring on the side of optimism.
Walmart doesn’t have Civ VII on its shelves yet, but UK stock-hunters can now pre-order as well.
The former simply sits next to your dock, offering 1080p video capture while you play with your friends.
The main difference between the two is that capture quality.
Ultimately, the one you pre-order comes down to how you plan on using your camera.
I’ve just come from another full retailer check and everyone else seems to be staying quiet this morning.
That’s not the end of this road, though - far from it.
Stay in touch with this store to see if you strike lucky over the rest of the day.
Amazon UK has stock!
Amazon has just dropped Nintendo Switch 2 stock for the first time in a little while.
This thing tends to move fast, though, so I’d get there as soon as you could.

Will Newegg drop more Nintendo Switch 2 stock today?
Should you pre-order extra Joy-Con?
I don’t think many players will need an extra set of Joy-Con from day one.
Right now, Joy-Con 2 Pairs are only available to pre-order in the UK.
We’re still waiting on Walmart and Best Buy to launch their stock in the US.
I would still recommend keeping a close eye on this store, though, for one reason.
All that lovely stock is organized by post code.
That means UK stock hunters have a much smaller competition pool when hunting down new pre-order opportunities.
You’re only racing those in your local area to your store’s supply.
I don’t think Argos is out for the count yet.

Can you pre-order Nintendo Switch 2 in-store?
The latter isonlyrunning its pre-orders through its brick and mortar locations.
You’ll need to grab yourself a lens first.
There’s no need to panic thinking you’ve been missed off the list already.
There, you’ll find the updated Pro Controller available for $84.99 with shipping by release day.
Pretty much nothing is actually sold direct via the retailer, and hasn’t been for some time.
The retailer wasn’t even carrying last year’s holiday bundles.
Nintendo Switch 2 games are still available to pre-order at Walmart
What you doing there Wii Sports?
Just make a note of those release dates, as they aren’t all launch-day titles.
Newegg has the Nintendo Switch 2 listed on its site, but hasn’t dropped any stock yet.
It’s also also worth watching those smaller stores like ShopTo as handhelds can hit the shelves without warning.
In better news…
GameStop has the Nintendo Switch 2 listed as “coming soon.”
I would be surprised if Walmart was out of this race.
The store had a massive supply when it dropped its first wave of pre-orders last week.
This is certainly one to watch, though.
