On the journey, Keats and Michelle and their respective robot companions become almost like a dysfunctional family.

“I think it just came naturally to us,” explains Brown.
And we just fell into this kind of brother/sister relationship.
So we were really lucky.
It was a true joy."
And, as Joe Russo points out, a lot of the emotional weight rests on Brown’s shoulders.
“And so it’s a very emotional arc for her.
She’s the grounding element in the film.
And the movie was always intended to make you laugh and make you cry.
So that was our hope, is that we can give you a full narrative experience.”
